In der Edelbrennerei Schwarzenberger haben wir über 95 Jahre Erfahrung im Schnaps Brennen. So sind wir eine der wenigen Brennereien, die das alte Wissen um das Destillieren heimischer Enzianwurzeln noch beherrschen und pflegen. Um 200 Liter Reindestillat zu erhalten, verarbeiten wir etwa 5 Tonnen Wurzeln. Von der mühevollen Reinigung über das Einmaischen bis hin zum Brennen werden die wertvollen Wurzeln händisch in der Destillerie verarbeitet. Das Resultat ist ein außergewöhnlich gehaltvoller Enzian, der seinesgleichen sucht.

Schnapps is a legally protected term for a spirit distilled and bottled in Austria. It denotes a spirit made from fruits such as pears or apples. The fruits are mashed and fermented. What is special here is that the gentian roots are also processed in exactly the same way and not simply preserved in alcohol as is often the case. The gentian distillate is produced from the gentian root mash by distillation, which is reduced to drinking strength after careful maturation.
